Better than diamonds.

After my initial doubts and misgivings, my first day at KIPP was awesome (slight exaggeration). After four days off, three o'clock hit and I was definitely ready for a nap but otherwise extremely cool. There was a quotation overload (more on that tomorrow and I'll pictorially show what I mean) but the people are super dedicated and fairly hilarious.

So, thank you so very much to all you who reached out to allay my nervousness. You were right! There's nothing  a little hard work and positivity won't solve. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Reading your messages made my day.

Speaking of which, my day began with an extremely high note. I hopped into Perlita only to find this on the passenger seat:

A little futher reading revealed...
A mix "tape" witht he sweetest lil' Doakes' drawing, ever.

The sap in me had tears rollling and me running out of the car to hug, kiss, squeal over my man. Which may have led to the dinner I came home to:
Ricotta stuffed portabello.

Really? What did I do to get so lucky?!

Alright, so, enough of my bragging. The portabellos? Delicious. Fresh. Light. Fran claims it took all of 20 minutes to complete. If you want the recipe, let me know. If not you can find it in the current edition of the Food Network magazine (headed to become a June fave, by the way).

PS: If you're in the mood for a happy squeal, go check this sweetie out. Jude cutie!!
