With the Rocky soundtrack looping through my head, I got dressed and tried not to dwell on how little I had truly studied my dummies book. Yes, I had made flashcards but I had not taken the proper amount of time to review them.
(these prefixes reminded me of the world's favorite wizard)
The more the thought of my lack of preparation kept rolling through, the hungrier I got. Luckily, Fran knew just the ticket to get me distracted: Sparkle Burger (more on this later).
With a deliciously greasy breakfast in me and storm clouds fixing to open up, the time had come to walk into UH's student assessment center and tear the band aid off. Walking into the reception I was greeted by a furry littler critter (them Coogs sure have an abundance of school pride) who quickly had me writing, verbatim, an oath of confidentiality (I may very well be breaking my oath by revealing these pictures...).
The strangest part was walking into the hallway where the testing would be taking place and realizing that I would be on camera the whole time... I can only begin to imagine the covert wedgie/nose picking that these workers get to witness on a daily basis.
Two essays, a few reading comprehensions, a plethora of analogies and mind boggling geometry problems later I walked out with a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and a grin the size of UH's campus: I HAD PASSED! God bless the people who decided to allow you the opportunity to see your score at the end of a test.
Even the extremely damp day could not dim my elation and so, with two of my favorite boys I went to celebrate with a juicy blue cheese, bacon burger and incomparable fries. Where? Where else but my beloved Barnaby's.
Thank you all for being so positive and rallying me through this! I really feel it was the positive vibes that had me survive the geometry section...
